Blastoff Social Media Advertising
Vol. III — Spring Issue Columbus, Ohio Est. 2022
A paid social shop

Performance ads
without the agency overhead.

Blastoff is a paid social media advertising studio in downtown Columbus. We manage Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and Reddit ad accounts for brands that read their attribution reports — usually e-commerce between $1M and $30M, plus a handful of B2B accounts with defined sales motions.

I.
The studio

A small team. A small client list. On purpose.

We started in 2022, a few blocks east of the Scioto Mile, after spending most of the 2010s inside larger agencies watching strategy decks get written instead of ad accounts get worked. Blastoff is the version of that we wanted to exist: media buyers running the accounts, sitting in the rooms, on the calls, in the slack — not a pod chart with five layers between the client and the person actually touching the campaigns.

We work with eight to twelve brands at a time. We do not pitch by deck. We do not have an account manager layer. If you hire us, the people you meet are the people who will be in your ad accounts on Monday morning.

The shop is named for what we want a launch to feel like — the quick part. The part after the months of testing, account restructures, creative iterations, and patient unsexy work that lets a campaign actually scale without breaking attribution. Most agencies sell you the launch. We mostly sell you everything that has to happen first.

If the strategy can't fit on a single page and survive a 20-minute Monday call, it's not strategy. It's a deck.

Capabilities

What we actually do, in order of how often we do it.

01
Meta Ads management
Full account ownership across Facebook and Instagram. Account structure, audience architecture, creative testing cadence, budget reallocation, and weekly performance readouts. Most of our clients run their primary acquisition spend here — we treat the account like infrastructure and the creative like inventory.
02
TikTok Ads management
Spark Ads, TopView, in-feed video, lead gen. We work with brands that already have or are willing to build a TikTok creative pipeline — usually three to six new concepts a week. If you don't have one, we'll tell you and either help you set it up or recommend you wait.
03
YouTube & programmatic video
YouTube Ads through Google, plus connected TV through DV360 when the budget makes sense. Used most often as a top-of-funnel layer for clients running heavy bottom-funnel Meta spend who have hit a CAC ceiling.
04
Reddit, Pinterest, and the rest
Some categories work on Reddit. Some on Pinterest. Most don't. We test them when the audience theory holds up and we shut them down when it doesn't — usually within 30 days and a single five-figure test budget.
05
Creative strategy & iteration
We don't shoot. We brief, we sort, and we tell you which hooks to make more of. We work with in-house creative teams and a short list of UGC producers we trust. Roughly half of our hours each month are spent on what to test next, not how to bid.
06
Attribution & reporting
Triple Whale, Northbeam, or your own warehouse. We work in whichever measurement stack you already have. We will not sell you a new one. If you don't have one and need one, we'll point you to whoever fits your size best.

How an engagement runs

A predictable monthly rhythm. No surprise quarterly pivots.

01
Audit before opining.
First 10 business days. We go through the existing accounts, the historical creative, and the measurement setup. We deliver a written audit — not a slide deck — that says what's working, what isn't, and what we'd do differently. If you don't like the document, we part ways and you keep the audit.
02
Account structure first.
Before we touch creative, we get the account structure right. Most accounts we inherit have either too many campaigns or not enough — and almost all of them have learning-phase issues that are quietly capping performance. Boring work. It's most of the lift.
03
Weekly readouts, not monthly decks.
A one-page Monday memo that covers what changed, what we're testing, and what the next two weeks look like. Short calls when needed, async by default. We do not run quarterly business reviews unless you ask for one.
04
Honest about scale.
Most brands are not bottlenecked by their media buyer. They're bottlenecked by their creative pipeline, their offer, or their margin. We will tell you which one if it applies. We have ended engagements early when it was the right call. We will do it again.
IV.
Engagement models

Three ways to work with us. We'll tell you which.

Model A
Full account management
For brands spending $40K–$500K/month across paid social and willing to hand over account ownership.
  • Meta & one other channel by default
  • Weekly written readout
  • Creative briefs delivered weekly
  • Quarterly account structure review
Model B
Embedded with in-house
For brands with an internal paid media lead who want a senior buyer in the seat next to them, not a replacement.
  • Joint account access
  • Twice-weekly working sessions
  • Creative testing roadmap
  • Quarterly skills transfer plan
Model C
Audit & fix
A one-time, six-week engagement. Account audit, structural rebuild, measurement setup, then handoff back to your team.
  • Fixed scope, fixed fee
  • Written deliverables
  • Two weeks of post-handoff support
  • No retainer commitment

Get in touch

Tell us about the account.

Send an email with your monthly spend, the channels you're currently running, and what's actually broken. We answer within one business day, usually less. If we're not the right fit we'll say so in the same email — and where reasonable, point you to someone who is.
